Any Other Photo {Lynsey and Callum}

There are many reasons why I think this AOP is a belter.  Lynsey’s writing for one thing – I’m a sucker for matter-of-fact-with-feelings and Lynsey nails it.  I love that despite it not being the photo one is supposed to choose, there’s been a long love affair between Lynsey and this shot for all the wrong (but right) reasons.  An AOP by stealth.  I like that, very much.

And of course the joy.  Oh, the sheer joy.  Over to you, Lynsey:

This isn’t a professional photo.   Our professional shots are lovely, and I’m pretty pleased with them despite the fact the photographer decided to take about 50 photos of me gazing dreamily at my bouquet but doesn’t have a single decent one of me & my mum…  This photo doesn’t show off my dress, or our venue, or even us getting married.

This is the photo I have stuck up on the wall above my desk.  This is the photo that instantly makes me smile even though my husband and I are working & living in different cities at the moment, only seeing each other at the weekends.  I don’t look my best in this photo; my eyes are doing something rather strange, I have a double chin AND a turkey neck.   Despite all that, this is my photo.

This is the photo that I think of every time someone mentions my wedding.  This is the photo showing how bl*ody happy we were that day, and how happy our friends and family were for us.  I have never seen my father-in-law smile like he did at our wedding, I’ve never seen my dad emotional before (ever!) until our wedding, I’ve never seen our friends shake their bums off to Beyonce like they did at our wedding (and if you knew our friends, that’s quite the statement).  And this is the photo that reminds me how much we love each other, even when I’m grumbling about living apart and all the rubbish day to day things like washing up, litter-trays and how much we hate paying two electricity bills.  This is my photo.

    This is lovely! I don’t know what you’re on about the neck and double chins, all is see is big fat cheesy grins that must make your face hurt.

    You look so happy, the both of you!
    And I love the write up, exactly what an AOP should be about.
