Happy Saturday, readers.
Today I’m bringing you one of my favourite food blogs, Top With Cinnamon. Written by Izy, who may be about half my age, and able to bake, invent, photograph AND WRITE, but we could still totally be friends. Because we’re not at school anymore, (well ok, SHE IS) and as a result, the rules are that you can be friends with anyone, of any age, ever.
I hold Top With Cinnamon in the same pantheon as I do Joy The Baker, Smitten Kitchen, and all of those beautiful hardback recipe books that I get out and read when I’ve had a bad day. Reading recipes is my version of smoking a cigarette. I read about scoops and imperial weights and their metric equivalents and read about stirring and sifting and folding and beating and I just. calm. down.
Izy is funny. Very funny. And she loves food. Everything about food.
Some ofmy favourite recipes for the weekend. All beautiful photography from Top With Cinnamon:
Cinnamon Roll Pull-Apart Bread. Yes, you can go there. You’re a grown-up. Look at the icing. Look at the cinnamon. Look at the pull-apartness of it.
Perfect Lemon Muffins. I don’t know about you, but I like my lemon cakes on the tart side. I almost want to make a face when I bite into them. I want their lemony goodness to sing. These muffins do that.
Croissants. Now, I know what you’re thinking. Why for the love of God would anyone want to go through the pain of making a croissant? Don’t pastry chefs put themselves through years of gruelling cookery school to do this? Yes. No. Yes. I confess I’ve never made these. But please, watch this. Izy has done .gifs of kneading croissant dough. Every time I watch it I feel like I’m being hypnotised.
And the grand finale?
I give you Izy’s Nutella Fudge Sauce. Spoon it over ice cream, and freeze it to make it crackle. On colder days, can be made into hot chocolate. I’m sorry. I’m not sorry.
Happy weekend, one and all.

Oh my goodness baked goods first thing in the morning, all look delicious! Oh how I wish I could bake.
They all look SO delish! Off to investigate immediately (and probably have a pinning marathon!)
