{Sponsored Post} Paper Themes

When Paper Themes approached us and asked about becoming a sponsor, we first visited their website, and then got excited, because a) they have beautiful beautiful stationery (and SO MANY OPTIONS), but also b) because they’re a UK based company who have a great green credentials.

To find out more about them and what they can offer you, I spoke to Liz who works for them, and asked her a few questions…

To get a sense of who you are and why you do what you do, can you tell us a bit about your professional background and how you came to be working at Paper Themes?

Hi, I’m Liz, a marketing executive at Paper Themes. Since leaving university, I have worked in various types of print companies, starting in photographic print, then moving into commercial. I gained lots of experience here, but always had an itch to work in the wedding industry! When I was given the opportunity to join Paper Themes, I jumped at the chance to join the world of wedding stationery & I absolutely love it! I’m part of fantastic team whose job is to help brides and grooms to tie the knot.  What’s not to love?!

Can you tell us more about Paper Themes and what you do?

We are here for you from the moment he (or she) gets down on one knee. We’re a one-stop-shop for all brides and grooms to be, offering you a choice of wedding stationery, with designs to suite all tastes, venues and budgets.

More importantly though, we try to be more of a support tool. Not only can you purchase all your stationery from us, the website includes a wedding planner tool assisting you with everything from to-do lists, to help and advice on best-man speeches and etiquette, wedding guest planners and access to a directory of everything you need from bridal shops and cake makers local to you.

What are you most proud of about Paper Themes?

We’re really proud of our history. We’ve been in the wedding stationery market for over a 100 years now, so we’ve seen a lot of things change (and a lot of things stay the same).

In terms of our range, I’d say we’re most proud of our letterpress designs. Letterpress is a printing method steeped in tradition and still requires a huge amount of skill. The letterpress process dates back as far as the fifteenth century. You’ll understand why letterpress is such a revered form of printing as soon as you run your fingers across the invitations. The way the wording is sunken into the paper or card is stunning; it gives them a tactile and luxurious effect.

What inspires you to do what you do? What is your ethos?

I guess there are two aspects of our company that really shows our ethos. First off, all our stationery is printed by us, in the UK. We’re big believers in UK manufacturing. It’s easy to see why so many printers outsource production when it’s so much cheaper to outsource abroad. At the same time though, by keeping it in-house, not only can we make sure production is up to our high standards, but it means we’re investing in the UK’s economy, which has never been more important.

Another thing that means a lot to us is being green. We recognise that the greetings card industry including wedding invitations and stationery is not the most ecologically friendly as we do use cardboard and paper to produce the vast majority of our products. However, we have done our utmost to ensure that we are as ‘green’ as we possibly can be with, as we only use materials sourced from sustainable forests.

Our manufacturing unit holds current FSC (forest stewardship council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certifications. The means we can trace through the chain of custody from our finished wedding invitations back to the tree it came from.

Tell us how Paper Themes is a good fit for Any Other Woman readers?

Paper Themes is for everybody, whatever your motivations for getting married, whatever your budget, whatever your taste in style and stationery. I think and hope that makes us a perfect fit for Any Other Woman!

We also have our latest offering, our  DIY wedding stationery, which is probably our most popular range. It was created in response to feedback we had from couples wanting to add a personal touch to their invitations. Couples pick the base-style of invitation they want and the colour scheme. All of the stationery in this range has been designed with aspects that can be personalised. These will be the panels on the front and the inserts. With each DIY kit we send an instruction guide and a wording template. Why are they so popular? Well, when you think about it, weddings are such a personal affair that people want to go beyond just sending invitations with ‘stock’ messages. You’re inviting friends and family to share one of the happiest days of your life. Tailoring the message of your invites just adds a really personal touch. You get the best of both worlds: beautifully designed invitations and ‘the feel’ of a personal invitation!

What can our readers expect from Paper Themes?

Our wedding stationery is second-to-none, we have a wide variety of designs to cater for all tastes, budgets & styles of wedding, but what each design has in common is that they are personalised to your exacting requirements & all have a high quality finish. We are an online company, but our team is still at the end of the phone should you need to ask anything at all – we know how important your wedding stationery is to set the scene for your big day; so anything we can assist you with, we will.

So there you have it readers…if you’re looking for stationery, I can’t think of a better place to start than at Paper Themes.

You can find them here at their website and blog, and follow them on twitter and facebook.
