Any Other Photo {Lara and Chris}

I have a few key points to make about this AOP.  Firstly, everybody should be kissed like this, frequently, and if you aren’t doing it right now, then WHY NOT.  Grab the person nearest to you.  Secondly, this picture and its description manages to capture almost every single kind of love there is, from THAT kind, to family, to friends, to ever-lasting.

It’s beautiful.

This’ll wake you out of your Friday slump, readers.  Thank you, Lara.  Over to you:

Staring at this picture, sensations and feelings submerged through the passing of ordinary days flash straight to the surface.

There is fierceness. An urgent desire to be as close as possible, to blur the lines between us, to grab onto each other and to never let go.  We are survivors on the front-line and this kiss is a desperate celebration of our existence. Intense elation radiates from every pore.

There is a sense of deep spiritual communion. A wonderment at words spoken, rings exchanged and promises made.  An amazement at the bright perfect bliss lifting us up.

There is no contradiction or conflict of the two. Both are happiness, one primal, one pure.  Both are love.

Staring at this picture, I am transported instantly to my experience of the moment, but there is more to it than that.

I can see my two fathers. They are both clapping. One is whistling. The other is beaming with delight. My father-in-law is a fragment but I can tell from the dimpling of his cheek that he is smiling too. My sister is a sliver of elbow, dress, cardigan and hair. My mother is only a trace of leg. Other guests are eclipsed by my veil or out of frame, but I know they are there. Hands are being held and glances exchanged. There are tears, laughter and smiles to amplify our joy.

For me, this picture is entirely about love. Our love at the heart of it, surrounded by the love of our family and friends. I pray that we always have both.

    Glorious! A kiss worthy of the silver screen and a write-up worthy of a novel. Excellent work on both counts Lara!

      It’s on our list to print out big and frame when funds permit….I think it would make me feel happy to catch sight of it on the wall and remind me of what’s important on those days when I forget xx

    Oooh, I just swooned in the manner of a Victorian lady. All over my desk. Will have to go and compose myself before I have a fit of the vapours! Just lovely.

    PS I now have utter fear about my AOP – I have NOTHING that could compare to this.

      Amanda, I felt that all the time when contemplating my AOP and look how nice people have been about it!

      All I can say is that every AOP is beautiful and special in its own way and I personally would love to see yours :) xxx
