Because gin and cake deserve a friend.

Bookmark it, readers.  Run by the brilliant Ashley Fryer (follow her @ashleyfryer… tea will come out of your nose, but follow her), Awesome Women Of Twitter is a collection of simply brilliant posts written by a collection of women on Twitter, ranging from street harrassment to sex being everywhere to yes you SHOULD be a feminist to gin and cake. 

They also have picnic meetups.       

I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat or a prostitute.

It’s bloody wonderful and refreshing to see how many writers and blogs there are out there that share and support the Any Other Woman ethos.  If I ever lose faith or heart or direction, when I see one too many airbrushed media campaigns or unreasonable judgements and demands upon women or  just too much sexism, AWOT is where I turn.  It’s like the readership of Any Other Woman exploded and bits and pieces fell all over Twitter, beautiful, glinting pieces of proper, believable, inspiring feminism. 

Go, read, be excited about being a woman.  Happy Saturday, readers.
