Any Other Photo {Stuart and Zoe}

I am eternally grateful to Anna  (she of Skin and Blister fame) and her powers of Twitter-persuasion, because without it, Stuart would never have sent this Any Other Photo in.

Readers?  I’m not going to ruin it with some long-winded intro.  Suffice to say, I received it, and was a wreck.  Look at the love!  Look!  The read the words and LOOK AT THE LOVE!

Ahem.  Happy Friday, readers.  Over to you, Stuart:

Zoe and I had been together for a couple of years before we got married. I knew we were meant to be together during our first date. I know it’s a cliché, but you know when you know, right? We’ve been married six years, seven in September.

We got married in a castle high on a hill in Cheshire. On the night of our wedding there was a huge electrical storm that lit up the outside of the castle, its dramatic grounds, even inside the rooms.

I’ve always liked this photo because, for me, it symbolizes our life together. I always want Zoe to be happy and be there for her, for the good times as well as the bad. I think, with her in my arms like that, the photograph captures that perfectly. We’re in a room full of people, but it feels like we’re the only ones there.

We’ve been through a lot, but hasn’t everyone? Friends, prior to getting married, have asked me what it’s like to be tied to the same person. It’s about knowing that there’s always going to be someone there for you no matter what, someone that you can count on to be on your side, someone that you can going grow old and experience life with whatever it throws at you. I think having someone that can be your best friend, your children’s mother and your everything is pretty amazing. Zoe is amazing (even if she never washes up).

    That is the loveliest thing I’ve ever read. What a guy! If only my H2B was so eloquent and matter of fact about his all consuming love for me (I’m sure He is on the inside!!) x

    So so lovely! What a perfect start to a sunny weekend (well I hope…) How nice is it having a husband do AOP? I suspect I might not be the only one not so subtly asking / telling my husband to do one too!

Hello! We're Clare, Aisling and Anna and welcome to a corner of the world where smart, flawed, real women talk about the bigger picture; about their experiences, stories and opinions on all aspects of being a woman today, from marriage to feminism to pretty, too.
