Four Months

Before I hand over to Emmi, just a quick note to let you know that as it’s Easter weekend we shall be having a long weekend….so the next post will be on Tuesday morning. We shall see you all here, bright and early. Unless we happen to be in a diabetic coma from over consumption of mini eggs and roast lamb.

Wow…has it really been two months since I wrote my last post? Two months might not seem that long to you, but I’ve actually doubled in age, so you know, it’s quite a big deal to me.

I’ve done SO MUCH since I last wrote to you, I don’t know where to begin. I’ve done A LOT of growing, which I think mum is pleased about, although she does go on about me growing out of all of my clothes. I can’t win.

I grew so much, I couldn’t fit into my moses basket anymore, so now I sleep in my big girl’s cot. It’s pretty cool in here, and I have way more space to squeal and fling my arms about, drama-queen-stylee when I wake up and need to let mum know I’m awake.

Talking of being awake, I’m awake so much more now, that mum has to find things to entertain me with. She bought me this seat so I can sit and direct her when she’s doing stuff in the kitchen.

She also bought me this great activity centre thingy that I can bounce around in to my heart’s content. She says she did it to get a bit of piece and quiet, but I don’t think she does get much peace and quiet because it has this great music which plays really loud, and I also have a few new noises I’ve discovered recently, that I like to practice whilst bouncing and doing Very. Important. Things. Mum says that her house now looks like a playschool exploded in it. I don’t understand though because she says it like it’s a bad thing.

Mum says I still need to grow some more so I can touch the floor and so her and dad can have their wedding photo album back, but I don’t know what she’s talking about. I can easily touch the floor.

I’ve been trying to crawl recently. I get reeeeeealy frustrated though because I can’t do it straight away. Mum says she doesn’t know where I get that from.

Crawling is tiring.

I’ve done quite a lot more swimming, but I still think dad enjoys it more than I do.

And I still love on-land daddy cuddles more.

Although Mummy cuddles are also pretty cool.

Oh, mum’s friends Lucy and Tom (apparently she’s some photographer or something) came to visit. Lucy’s hilarious.

I think that’s it. You know, with all of the sleeping, eating and pooing I do, there’s not a lot of time for much else. It’s hard work being a baby.

Oh….but I did find my feet recently. Feet taste nice. Who knew.

I was exploding with glee at these anyway and then the ones of her on the sofa trying to crawl and with her daddy actually SLAYED me!

I only have one thing that is appropriate to say right now. Le sigh.

Emmi, I can’t believe you’re already four months old. Thank you for vomming milky sick on my hand mid cuddle and also for trying to eat my flowery dress (the one with the lace on?). I will remind you of these things when you’re *this big* and may even bring it up at your wedding.

Ladies…this little girl may in fact the cutest baby ever. Also, what an incredible range of facial expressions she has, she’s amazing.

I’m afraid that Emmi is already ‘pre-engaged’ to Max AND William, but I’m sure she’s the type of girl not to entirely rule out a better offer. And I’m pretty sure you in the world’s best hat is the best offer she’s going to get.

Lovely start to the bank holiday weekend. Hope everyone has a great one and that you girls aren’t in a chocolate coma come tuesday – we need some more AOW in our lives!

Oh, she is just the cutest. I could coo over these photos all day. I love her ankle bracelet, so stylish.

    • Posted April 5, 2012 at 2:01 pm | Permalink

Well she IS super stylish. But she’s also teething like mad, which does not lead to a happy baby, and the anklet is an amber teething anklet, which is supposed to be soothing and a natural analgesic. We shall see.

But whatever, she looks cool. (Although Andy tries desperately to hide it when we go out because he is embarrassed by her looking like a ‘hippy ethnic baby’).

      • Posted April 5, 2012 at 2:35 pm | Permalink

You should stick a dreamcatcher around her neck, and maybe dress her in a kaftan. You know, just in case anyone mistakes her hippy ethnic bracelet for a teething anklet.

I just saw a picture of Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr’s baby boy wearing an amber-teething necklace. Supposedly it’s very “European”!

You could add multiple rings to one of her fingers and then he’d think she was a bit gypsy too?

I was actually on Skype with Clare when I first read this and had to pause our VERY IMPORTANT MEETING so I could say thinking like “she’s mushing her CHEEKS into the SOFA!!!!”

That sofa is from Ikea and cost about 200gbp. Which is lucky because The Cat seems to think it is also her very own super sized scratching post.

Oh blimey… that is all just a world of cute! Brilliant way to start the long weekend.

Incidently…am I the only one looking forward to when Emmi blogs as a teenager (“It’s all SO UNFAIR!!” …etc) ;)

I love Emmi updates! It all looks so lovely, it makes me want a baby. In an anklet. In Malaysia, with a swimming pool…!

Looking pretty gorgeous infront of Mummy’s new lens there Emmi. Max completely agrees – pistols at dawn William & George?

Loving the crawling E, although it does look at little like the downward dog. Such a stylish 4 month old doing yoga and learning to do ‘the lift’ from Dirty Dancing with Daddy in the pool. xx

Wowser – these are enough to make even ME broody – trust me Clare, that is a gargantuan feat!

Super super cute, enjoy the weekend everyone!

Eeek another Emmi post, can’t believe I missed this until today! I love your writing Emmi, you’re so witty and so photogenic and happy too! The picture of you and Lucy is great and the sequence of trying to crawl on the sofa is brilliant!

Can’t wait to hear more in your next installment!
