Weekend Wonderings

I had some beautiful presents for my birthday, and more on that in a post next week.

But I’m a sucker for wrapping.  And the best-wrapped gift of all came from Rachel, the genius behind Flowers and Stripes.   It had brown package wrapping paper, beautifully presented, and on one side, so…so decorative… was this tape.  Well, I think it was this tape.  It was certainly similar.

From Cox and Cox, £12 for two rolls

Described as “two rolls of glorious adhesive tape,  with a delicate look but strong enough for albums and scrapbooks. One roll with vintage butterfly prints, the other with varied styles of antique calligraphy. Why use clear sticky tape when you can use decorative?”

Why, indeed?

I love being a person who derives joy from beautiful wrapping.

Happy Saturday, readers.

I’m so with you. I have rolls and rolls and rolls of tape- masking tapes, washi tapes, fabric tapes. It’s a bit ridiculous but if i see them I just have to buy them!

My stationary collection is ridiculous. Papermash have some of these clear ones too that are really lovely.

You look really pretty in this photo! X x

Aah Anna what a lovely post. It was a pleasure wrapping it for you. I think it was maybe Cox&Cox from ages ago. I have a lovely box with all my tape in. Papermash is brilliant for tape as Anna said plus Paperchase on Tottenham Court Road. See you later!

Huge wrapping fan over here too! I spend way too long planning wrapping! Choosing ribbon and finding good deals on paper and generally being a bit of a geek about it. Lovely picture!

I’m glad I’m not the only one who is a massive wrapping geek. Only use double-sided sticky tape and generally spend a ruddy fortune on ribbon. Also agree – lovely photo of you! For my fellow wrappers looking for pretty ribbons – Crafty Ribbons on t’interweb is really good.x

Hello! We're Clare, Aisling and Anna and welcome to a corner of the world where smart, flawed, real women talk about the bigger picture; about their experiences, stories and opinions on all aspects of being a woman today, from marriage to feminism to pretty, too.

More here.
