Giveaway: “You Are Beautiful” Print

Welcome back, readers!

How are you getting on?  Are you settled in, yet?  Like the look of the place?  Got a cup of tea and your feet up?

Drumroll please…..

Are you ready for the first competition of launch week?  Are you?

How do you fancy winning a mounted print of THIS?

You Are Beautiful, from Erika's incredible gallery

This incredible picture, from this gallery,  was taken by Brighton-based wedding photographer Erika Szostak of PhotoMadly.  The image size is 6×12″; mounted to fit a 16×20″ frame.  Aisling can testify that it is every bit as beautiful in the flesh as you’d imagine from seeing it on screen.  The winner may have to prise it from her hands.

Erika and her husband Mark are based in Brighton, and run PhotoMadly together.  They say “We look for the stories told by the small gestures, the shared glances, the goofy inside jokes and the items left behind”.  Be still my beating, story-hound heart.  I spoke to Erika on the phone  recently.  She was in no way fazed by my incoherent fangirlism, and I liked her immediately.  Her images are breathtaking but more than that, you know she took this picture, and all her pictures from the heart.  And that’s the kind of photograph you want on your wall.

You are beautiful….pretty fitting for the first competition of Any Other Woman launch week, no?

So what do you have to do to win?

1. Leave us a comment below this post telling us that you want to enter (and where you’d display the print).

2. The competition ends at midnight on Monday 12 March.

3. Er…that’s it.  We don’t  go in for scary, complicated rules here.  We’ll pick a random number with our fancy random number generator and announce the lucky winner next week.

If you aren’t lucky enough to win this competition, you can still purchase You Are Beautiful in various formats from postcard to mounted, framed or canvas print in Erika’s gallery.

So…were I to win this print (which sadly is an impossibility)…I’d display it in my hallway, so whenever a day at work has broken me, one look at this would put me back together again.

And you, readers?  Get commenting to win!

*ahem* Sorry… but I love that. It’s empoweringly beautiful. I would put it above or beside the mirror on my chest of drawers, to replace the “YOU are enough” that is currently scrawled on the mirror in lipgloss to remind me that looking like me is okay, I don’t have to look like perfection.

My god Katie – are we not emotional enough already today?! YOU are Miss AOW, and why I love this blog and the community.

    I would like to enter!!

Since I spend so much of my time on the computer, I have a prime piece of wall space in the office crying out for some inspirational pretty

Erm hell yes I’d like to enter!

I have a big ol’ wall in my living room, above the sofa which would be perfect for this. The walls are yellow in there so would go beautifully with the print. Not that the random generator will pick me based on the print colour coordinating with my wall, but one can hope!

I would like to win! (Are US winners allowed?) I would totally put this right above my vanity in my bedroom where I get dressed in the morning.

We have a lovely beauty salon which would really benefit fom such an affecting picture. It would be a great focal point. Just feel a sort of public space will be right for it.

I would love to win this print, I have the perfect space on my bedroom wall for it, I’d love to look up in the morning and see it telling me ‘you are beautiful’ as it’s what OH tells me every morning when we wakes.

    Pick me! Pick me!

Mr P and his daddyo will be building me a cupboard in the hall with some lovely shelves very soon and this would be a lovely focal point for them!

Ouuu this is fab! I would put it upstairs in our house so that it is the first written words both me and my little girl see every morning!

I love this pic and, whilst everyone else has given excellent justification for why they would like it, I would just like to say that I love it and would really rather like to get my mitts on it, sparing our wall from yet another Ikea print. I thank you! Martha PS Loving the new look site! Well done all. x

Oh boo, I posted a “me, me me!” comment and it didnt work, so now worried it actually has, and you’ll have two from me and think I am cheating in your lovely competition and…oh, sob! Damn technology, hurray for a very beautiful new AOW site!

I would like to enter this fab competition too :D

If I won this picture would go on my kitchen wall to inspire me whilst eating my breakfast and generally looking a bit rough of morning (Monday mornings especially!). I have to say I would love it to covet the dress too, there are not enough situations in life when you get to wear a big fancy dress like that, I may have to fashion my own photoshoot just to dress up like the model! x

Stick your hands up for Detroit….I love this city….de da da da da da da…
Pooooowwww….de de da da da. So me please. Yes please. I never win anything (insert sad pathetic face here).

If I won this I would either:
    1. Give it to Anna for her birthday because I can think of nothing intellectual enough and I can’t find the vinate typewriter she asked for.
    2. I’d stick it on my bedroom wall. The long one near the door. Above the bloody storage heater. So it’s what we see when we look up blindingly into the light. If you don’t know where l mean you’ll have to come over and watch West Wing DVDs and eat cheese and drink chablis from Waitrose. Could a night BE any better?

Also FYI…homeland. Is Damien Lewis a prize this week because (despite the gingerness) I want to take him home and do unrepeatable things. Like…. Watch Two Cathedrals with our hands in our pockets.

I love this print. Gorgeous. Would love to win. I have a new house with lots of walls to fill, but would post it somewhere where my daughter could see it.

    OOH mememememeME! *waves hand manically*

I’d hang it up in my hallway, near the front door so that every time I have to brace myself to leave the house, feeling a little self-conscious, I can have that last minute confidence boost and feel a bit braver about facing the outside world.

I would like to win this and give it to a close friend of mine who has just opened a new beauty salon. It would be a lovely congratulations/good luck gift and would be a great inspirational piece for her customers to see when they’re having treatments in the salon.

I’m throwing my hat into the ring for this one (and yes, I do have a UK mailing address!). I’m torn between putting it in my bedroom or my kitchen, so if I won I’d probably have to buy another so i could have one in each place.

Hello! We're Clare, Aisling and Anna and welcome to a corner of the world where smart, flawed, real women talk about the bigger picture; about their experiences, stories and opinions on all aspects of being a woman today, from marriage to feminism to pretty, too.
