Competition Winners Announced!

Happy Thursday, readers!

Now you may have noticed that we had a re-launch recently.  It went rather well.  It was’t conducive to a whole lot of sleep, but it was conducive to a whole lot of joy, and excitement, and when launch week finally hit, more support from our readers than we ever thought possible.

I have since been rejoicing in slumber unbroken by the cold planning and organising sweats.  Remember those, marrieds?  Oh yes.  It was like the Return Of The I’m-At-The-Altar-In-A-Shell-Suit Dreams.

So…during launch week we ran some incredible competitions.  You entered.  We loved reading your entries…they ranged from the inspiring to the heart-wrenching to the hilarious.

Who won what? I hear you cry.

Drumroll, please!

Giveaway: “You Are Beuatiful” Print

This incredible picture was taken, and a print of it generously offered by Brighton-based wedding photographer Erika Szostak of PhotoMadly.   We hadsome incredible entries, some real  stop-your-heart reasons why people wanted this print.

And the winner is….Ciara! (comment number 8) who said that she’d put it upstairs in her house so it would be the first thing her and her little girl would see every morning. Perfect, no?

We’re delighted for you, Ciara! Drop us an email with your address and we’ll get this print to you, pronto!

For those who missed out, you can purchase the print from Erika’s online gallery.

Giveaway: A couples or engagement shoot in London or Sussex!

This beautiful photograph was taken by Erika Szostak of PhotoMadly, and she offered a photoshoot based in London or Sussex, for one lucky reader.  We had some compelling entries, and the winner is ….Sarah B! (comment number 6)

Congratulations, Sarah!

Sarah had the most amazing idea for her photoshoot.  Go and read it, folks.  It involves an industrial background, and setting off on a voyage to Sri Lanka, fancy umbrellas, picnic by the sea, and her dogs.  Completely amazing!  We’ll be blogging the results of this adventure in the future, believe you me!

Win!: A wedsite, and a beautiful guest book and a keepsake book!

This competition was aimed at our engaged readers.  The generous Steff offered her talents building a wedsite, and the talented Nicky of Millie and Me (who describes her products as “scrumptious”.  I’m sold) gave away a bespoke guest book with a decorated box, and a keepsake book.

And who is the winner, I hear you cry?  The winner is…Kate Harvey! (comment number 2!)  Congratulations, Kate!  Drop us an email and we’ll get you in touch with the gorgeous Steff, and with the lovely Nicky of Millie and Me.

To those who entered the competition but weren’t lucky enough to win, and still want a wedsite, drop us an email and we’ll put you in touch with Steff.  As she’s just starting out she’d just charge for the hosting and domain (about £25 in total).  Jump on that bargain, readers.

Win!: A beautiful print and a beautiful bespoke accessory!

We discovered just how talented our readership really is, with Bex offering a print from her incredible collection, and Amy offering a bespoke creation including email consultation.

“Gold” by Bex, who also writes The Olive Dragonfly, who is also a DENTIST.  Inferiority complex, us?

Beautiful butterflies  from Amy of Field and Fallow.  Erm, Amy, I want butterflies in my hair Every Day.  And, hair like this.  You’re on it?  Thanks.

And the winner of both of these beautiful items is….Alice!  (comment number 35)…Congratulations, Alice!  Drop us an email and we’ll give you all the details you need for that beautiful bespoke creation and print.  And you have to show us what you chose.  Naturally.  That was a secret addition to the terms and conditions…

For those of you that didn’t win, the lovely Bex is offering all Any Other Woman readers a 15% discount on her prints, just enter the code “AOW” at checkout.  Like you needed another excuse!  Go, and buy!

Giveaway!:  A Rock The Frock, Newborn or Couples Shoot!

Beautiful image by Emma-Kate of  Emma-Kate Photography

Oh readers, did you go nuts for this one.  And rightly so.  When Kent-based photographer Emma-Kate of Emma-Kate Photography offered this shoot, we just about fell off our seats and it appears you did too.  There were some brilliant, insightful and just plain enthusiastic entries that were a pleasure to read.

And who is the winner?  It’s…Gemma! (comment number 27)…who chose a rock the frock shoot with a difference, wearing her late mother’s wedding dress.  Congratulations, Gemma!  We’re delighted for you.

Drop us an email and we’ll put you in touch with Emma-Kate.

Win!: A watercolour pop-art portrait!

Frankie, Ben, THAT pink house and the incredible pop-art watercolour portrait, courtesy of the talented Allan Williams

This incredibly generous offer from artist and illustrator, Allan Williams made us jump up and down with excitement (yes, even Emilia) and we had a brilliant time reading the entries and your favourite Any Other Photos.

So who won?  The winner is…Katie!  (comment number 10).  Congratulations, Katie! Drop us an email, and we will put you in touch with Allan.  And of course, we would love to take a peek at the result.  Pretty please.

And that brings us on to our final competition of launch week….

Giveaway!: A Boudoir Shoot and Jewellery

Picture by the talented, lovely, you’d-trust-her-to-see-you-in-your-knickers Andrea de Gabriel’s Utterly Divine Boudoir

This competition generated some incredible conversation, as well as some brilliant entries.  Andrea wrote some posts on her blog as a way of addressing some of the issues that came out in this conversation.  She was horrified at the thought that some women feel they have to spend obscene amount of money for a boudoir shoot, and wanted to address why women feel unworthy of a boudoir shoot.  Go and have a read, to see a photographer’s (eloquent) point of view on this.

Accompanying Andrea’s shoot is some beautiful jewellery courtesy of 3D Jewellery…that you may or may not wish to wear on the shoot itself!

The lucky winner of the boudoir shoot and jewellery is….Emily! (comment number 12)  Congratulations, Emily!  Drop us an email and we’ll put you in touch with Andrea and get your jewellery sent to you.

So, readers.  Well done to all the winners, and thank you to everyone that entered.  What a week is was, hmmm?

A huge thank you from us at Any Other Woman for the jaw-dropping generosity of all those who donated prizes.  We are so grateful to you.

I’m off to dance around in a sheet, on Brighton Beach, with butterflies in my perfectly tousled hair….

I saw my name, but before getting too excited, I had to find the original post, to check if I was the Katie from comment number 10, and I am indeed!! Yay! I’m so excited! I loved Alan’s popart. Such a fabulous prize. I’m jumping up and down on my seat, with a huge grin on my face. I’m just off to email you now, and telephone Andy.

Thank you AOW, and thank you Alan Williams.

Congratulations to the other winners too.

I hope you see this, Anna, but just in case I seem rude, I did email you as promised yesterday, thanking you Clare and Aisling, and praising your website. I’ve just had an email to say the email I sent was undeliverable. So thank you for being so prompt and acting on my comment!

Allan has received my photos (being undecisive I gave him a selection). Very excited.

        Katie xx

Hello! We're Clare, Aisling and Anna and welcome to a corner of the world where smart, flawed, real women talk about the bigger picture; about their experiences, stories and opinions on all aspects of being a woman today, from marriage to feminism to pretty, too.

More here.
