Any Other Photo {Anna and Bean}

We have been badgering Anna to send in her Any Other Photo for what seems like FOR. EVER. But when she finally did send it in, it was absolutely worth the wait.

What’s so lovely is that the moment that Anna talks about was caught absolutely by chance. It definitely wasn’t the reason for, or the focus of the picture, and I’m almost certain that when Emma Case (Anna’s super talented photographer) took this picture, she had no idea what she were capturing…

When I think back about my wedding I have mixed emotions.

There are the thoughts of joy. Our ceremony was really quite beautiful (even if I do say so myself).
Yet there are thoughts of sadness. (But let’s not dwell upon those).
However when I look at this photograph I smile. It’s the moment just after my new amazing sister read words written by the wonderful Pablo Neruda.
Not at how much of behemoth I am or how Bean is grinning like a loon – that does not a happy image make – well Bean grinning is quite cute.
No, look behind us to the left. The smiley camcorder man and the lady in purple. They are Bean’s parents. Married for over 40 years. Their daughter has just spoken about love, their youngest son has just got married and there they are looking deep into each other’s eyes. They are so in love.
Their love for each other oozes out of every pore even all these years later. It is beautiful.
Yes we are the future but they are making the present so very wonderful.

Oh, the photo’s beautiful, but the write up is perfect. I had to scroll up to appreciate the photo all over again. So cute. I love your 1920s style. I’m lusting after your lipstick.

    Such a lovely photo Anna!

We had a Pablo Neruda reading at our wedding too… I love him! Don’t suppose you have a love affair with ‘Il Postino’ too do you? If not, watch it…. it’s beautiful! x

Such a pretty photograph. Such pretty words. It’s so refreshing to hear about amazing in-laws :)

Anna, you’re a stunner. And Bean, my man is lusting after your suit so much it’s practically indecent. What a beautiful pair.

    Happy Friday :)

I love that about photos. The fact that they have very personal memories for those involved. Such a nice perspective.

Anna, I love that this is why you love the picture, what a lovely sentiment! And I also love the fact that you’ve looked at the picture so many times that you now look beyond you and Bean in the forefront to see who else it has captured.

Aww gosh. Thank you. Weddings are really quite special.

(I did rather like my veil too – there a nice little story behind it!)

Thank you for all your lovely comments. My dad may not be that great with a video camera*, but he certainly loves my mum.

*I say this based on holiday videos consisting mostly of footage of his feet.
