Any Other Photo {The Lawsons}

I’ll be honest.  It feels like Photographic Royalty has landed on these peachy pages.  “The Lawsons are coming round!  Put arty, intelligent prints on the walls!  Do we have biscuits?   Clare, did you pick up milk?  Aisling, arrange some flowers in an aesthetically pleasing location!  Stat!”

Except the Lawsons are probably the nicest, least pretentious people you could ever meet.  Who just happen to be…erm…extraordinarily talented.

Yes, this is Laura and Pete Lawson‘s Any Other Photo.  Except they broke the rules, and it’s more than one photograph, but they’re forgiven, because these photos, and the sentiment behind them are beautiful.  And real.  And look at them. Read the words.  They couldn’t be any more in love if they tried.
Happy Friday, readers:
There are three things we had to do to make this a true Lawson Any Other Photo.

1. choose together
2. choose way more than one picture
3. choose pictures involving food.

Our Any Other Photo is from our wedding reception back in 2007. It was late into the evening; our official photographer had gone home for a well earned rest, my fancy high heeled shoes had been replaced with ballet pumps and I’d had a good cry.

Pete decided to go and get our camera.

We have hundreds of beautiful pictures from our wedding, but these snap shots feel like the most authentic. I love that husband of mine and he loves me, we’re both there in every picture whether we are in front of or behind the camera. When I look at the camera when Pete takes a picture I’m really looking at Pete, and that makes it full of love.

I hope we can look at them in 50 years and laugh at what silly things we were when we were young.

    SO adorable!

The sentiment behind this is gorgeous, as are the both of you. And your friend. It's just all too much gorgeousness.

I really want a bacon buttie now!

Is it strange having your photo taken as a photographer? I'd imagine it would be a bit disconcerting but then I'm a control freak so maybe that's just me.

My fave of these pics is the first one – I like the look of half giggling, half wanting to stuff your face – brilliant!

    Ah thanks folks :-)

We did find it a bit odd to be at a wedding and not taking pictures…we kept wandering off by ourselves, much more at home on the outskirts rather than the centre of attention!

Hello! We're Clare, Aisling and Anna and welcome to a corner of the world where smart, flawed, real women talk about the bigger picture; about their experiences, stories and opinions on all aspects of being a woman today, from marriage to feminism to pretty, too.

More here.
