Weekend Wanderings – Florence Finds

We are delighted to bring you a different kind of Weekend Wonderings today….Saturday Wanderings, as brought to you by Rebecca Norris of Florence Finds.  Florence’s debut this week has taken the blogosphere by storm, and deservedly so, and we couldn’t be happier that Rebecca has her voice back.
Rebecca has pulled together a whole host of beautiful, interesting and entertaining things that Florence found, the perfect post to curl up to with a coffee on a Saturday morning.  Enjoy, readers. Over to Florence:
Hello readers!

Well, today is a Florence Finds take over… My collection of links and finds from around the web, for your delectation! I’m so proud to be allowed to share my latest venture on Any Other Wedding – thank you so much to Clare, Anna and Aisling for letting me add some variety to your weekend!

For those of you yet to find it, Florence Finds is my new venture, a women’s lifestyle blog focusing on Fashion, Interiors and Beauty but with splashes of travel, films, books and food. You can expect new posts every week day and lots of conversation from the voices you know and love. I hope you enjoy the selection of links I have chosen and that they give you a flavour of what the site is all about but more importantly that they broaden your horizons this weekend and give you something new to try.

Any other Season… The leaves are turning and Autumn is my joint favourite season (obviously I’m pretty happy year round!) Kicking the leaves, marvelling at the colours… here is a collection of beautiful Autumn imagery to get lost in via one of my favourite sites, Kirtsy.

Any other Recipe… In the spirit of the season, how about cooking something seasonal this weekend? AOW commenter Gemma shared her autumnal butternut squash soup this week on Florence Finds and we do like an heirloom recipe – it was her Gran’s don’t you know, which means it has to be good.

Any Other Book – I’ve been looking for a book club for a long time to expand my literary horizons and so I enrolled Rachel of Flowers and Stripes to help me lead Florence’s book club. I started with One Day by David Nicholls (Hop over and leave your opinion to join the club) and Rachel introduced Breakfast at Tiffany’s as our next read along.

Any Other DIY – This one works if you’re a bride or a crafty bee, a completely customisable burlap (or hessian as we call it here) wreath over on Oh So Lovely. It’s made for Autumn, but would work beautifully for a rustic wedding and looks super cheap to make.

Any Other Skirt – I’m a total sucker for sequins which is one of the reasons I love this blog so much… welcome to The Glitter Guide. This post shows the glitter skirt (that I will so be purchasing one of – there is one in Zara, shown above) styled 5 different ways.

Any other Colour – and what colour? Well obviously it’s orange. THE colour of autumn and happily, the colour of pumpkins too! Head on over to Design*Sponge to see their Best Of Orange round up. Given that the seventies are so big in interiors and retro design right now it’s not only seasonal but stylish.

Any Other Cupcake – It’s more of the Pumpkins with Pumpkin Brown Butter Cupcakes with Cinnamon frosting. One for an Autumn wedding perhaps?

Any Other Thought – If you haven’t been over to Florence Finds yet you won’t have seen this post… the most appropriate so far for the intelligent and thoughtful AOW community… Funny Girl or Pretty, what qualities do you aspire to?

Any Other Timewaster – It’s been everywhere but it’s a great way to waste 5 minutes… Draw a stick man.

Any Other Something Blue – Because after all, this is a wedding blog… have you thought about your something blue?

Any Other Calendar – I know a calender is a bit of a cliché when it comes to gifts (and I’m thinking of the multitude of cat/boy band/his’n'hers calendars available in WH Smiths each autumn) but I bought a beautiful letterpress one off etsy 2 years ago and decided to look for something similar. The beauty of a hand crafted or illustrated calendar gives you year round pleasure and for such a small price…

Any Other Wedding Make-Up – Because I love make up and I love Bobbi Brown, I found this page of tips and tricks for creating you Bridal DIY face. It’s pretty useful, even if you’re not using Bobbi’s products. Bridal by Bobbi Brown.

I’m looking forward to welcoming you all to Florence finds!

Congrats Rebecca on your new venture, I knew you would be adding another daily blog fix to our lives!

I am not a bloggy sort of gal (I know, so not what you would think seen as I check in such a lot and have a blog) so now I have a list of 4 daily blogs to check out….I am struggling to keep up how pathetic is that!

I will keep checking in though and what a fab idea to feature every kind of thing going! Your the Gywnnie of the UK!

    Lots of love
    Alex xx

Hello! We're Clare, Aisling and Anna and welcome to a corner of the world where smart, flawed, real women talk about the bigger picture; about their experiences, stories and opinions on all aspects of being a woman today, from marriage to feminism to pretty, too.

More here.
