Any Other Party is here!

So, after much deliberating, a date, time and location have been decided upon for the very first

Any Other Party!

So here is what you need to know…

Friday 9th September 2011

Our thoughts on the location have changed hugely over the past week.

When we thought it would just be the three of us, we thought a cob-webby backroom in a dodgy pub would do.

Then a few of you started saying you might like to come, and so we thought perhaps we could all just turn up at a decent pub and have a few glasses of house wine.

Before we knew it though, more and more of you were starting to say you’d like to come, so we thought we ought to actually do some research and book somewhere. Somewhere that does Mojitos and other such delights. There was even talk of bunting.

And then, some serious wedding royalty started saying that they would be coming, and we realised that we’d better come up with something to do you all justice.

And something fabulous is indeed what we Anna has come up with. For obvious reasons we can’t give away much on here, (not that we are under any illusion that we’ll be mobbed) but it will be taking place in a lovely location in London that we think is very AOW. It is stylish, and yet down to earth, with just a hint of quirkiness – which is exactly what we like to think all of you lot are.

Don’t worry. We’re not going to cram you all in an Eye capsule. Photo by Vemma on Flickr.

Ok…you caught us, there is no theme. Whilst Aisling had the time of her life at the LMD Soiree, we know that we are not on that scale. We are different, and won’t be trying to recreate something that has already been done so bloody fabulously.

So don’t come expecting dancing girls (although Anna has mentioned nipple tassels several times – you have been warned), or high-end glamour. Because that’s not what AOW is about.

There will be elements of the pretty, and we may get ourselves all glammed up, but really this will be an event about meeting and mingling with like-minded ladies who are of the AOW philosophy. Whilst drinking cocktails. And/or wine. And laughing. A lot.

Can anyone come?

Absolutely. You know us, we make friends with anybody. We want you all. Whether you’re a long time reader, a lurker, a wedding professional, another blogger, or just someone who pops in occasionally when you’ve run out of other things to look at on the internets, we want you there. We bang on about it all the time, but we’re about community, and all of you are part of that. So don’t be shy, we solemnly promise you that we will make every single one of you welcome. Aisling may even lick your face. But don’t let that put you off.

Just look out for three ladies in this position and with similar props. One will be pregnant, one will be busy waving AOW flags and one will be licking people’s faces.

How can I come?

So ladies and gents, in order to get your hands on some of the most talked about tickets of the year (at least in our twitter-feed anyway), all you need to do is email us at .  This is first and foremost an event for our amazing readers, so please bear with us whilst we sort out the guest list, and remember that if this is successful, we’ll have another Any Other Party soon.

As soon as the details are finalised and ready, you will be emailed with all of the location info so that you can get organising transport/accommodation/pre-party meet-ups so you don’t have to walk in on your own if you don’t want to. But we will leave no-one on the peripheries – we want to meet you ALL.

There is a limit on numbers due to the size of the venue, but if you want to come, get in touch asap, yes?

And for those of you who can’t make it this time, don’t worry, there WILL be a next time.

Now get on and email us will you – we are obscenely excited about meeting you all.

And Anna needs to know how many flags to make.

I fear i am both too outside the average age demographic of most of your readers and too living in Ireland with an inconvenient body of water between me and London town to be in attendance but i will enjoy reading about it and seeing the photos on the blog afterwards!

I really want to come but not sure the wedding fund/current account can justify it. Hmmmm maybe I can pretend it's a work thing to the other half??

Can I send you a picture of my face that you have to print off, glue to a stick and carry around with you? Aisling can even lick it if she wants.

Hello! We're Clare, Aisling and Anna and welcome to a corner of the world where smart, flawed, real women talk about the bigger picture; about their experiences, stories and opinions on all aspects of being a woman today, from marriage to feminism to pretty, too.

More here.
