Family Portrait

So…. you know how in the last post I promised that I wouldn’t be asking for any more help? Yeh. I sort of lied a little bit.
But in my defence, at the time I didn’t think I was going to need any more help. So I really didn’t know I was lying. I like to think that makes it better?
The thing was, you guys came up with such flippin’ brilliant ideas for the Penguin Front Cover Escort Cards (of which I am combining elements from pretty much everybody’s responses so thank you all SO much), that when I was having a panic last night about another creative element of the day, it occurred to me that you wonderful lovely creatures were the ones to ask. (Yes, I’m hoping that flattery will get me everywhere, but tis also true).
Here’s the thing. We have collected about 20 pictures of family and friends on their wedding days, and want to some how display them on the wedding day.
Yup. That is actually, all I have. Help.
Actually, I can give you a bit more info, if it would help?
  – The pictures will all be scanned and then printed out in black and white on gloss paper, so they will look like pictures, but we can do what we like with them, ie put holes in them, stick them to things etc etc. They’ve not yet been printed so size is yet to be determined.
 - We have so far come up with the truly inspired idea of having *some sort* of bushes and tying all the pictures *somehow*. But what bushes? Or *some sort* of washing line effect? But really it needs to fit onto one trestle table area. (See point below). As you can see, our already small river of inspiration has run well and truly dry.
 - We are limited on space.
 - It’s a hotel so nothing can be set up the night before, so whatever it is needs to be quick to set up, or set-up-able before the day. Also I don’t think they’re going to be keen on us sticking things to their lovely wallpaper.
 - We are limited on cash.
So there you have it. Not asking too much am I? And it’s not like I’ve ever asked you for help before. Wait. I’m lying again. But really really, I would be so grateful if you could help us out with this  And actually so would the man, as it would stop me whining on at him to come up with something.  We are both waiting in eager anticipation for your fabulous ideas.

Quick to set up suggests pegs and string. But that has already been suggested for the cards. Not that that matters. But how about hanging them downwards – can you suspend string from any part of the ceiling and attach them hanging down, 3 to a string? Or twigs in a jar? You could put them on tables attached to a twig in a jar, or a cute old can or some other sort of receptacle?

Have you thought about a photo tree? something liek this revolving one maybe?

Might be a nice thing to encorporate on the cake table?

Maybe dot them randomly around the venue (in frames or the like) and have a guessing game… Name that couple!
The recent ones will be obvious but not the older ones such as grandparents or inlaws. Ooh I want to play! Or perhaps guess the year.

Maybe buy a framed cork board from etsy (they're quite ornate and vintage looking)

These are also great – I have a couple myself…

I have seen a clothes line with nice wooden pegs along a wall holding up images and texts…

    It looked really good?

i'm still stuck on the washing line. only because it's something i really wanted to do, but couldn't. :)

i think some nice frames would work, but that might be costly. have you thought about matting them into a collage? then writing who each of the couples are and the dates they were married underneath them? it may be a nice keepsake to have from your wedding.
